La Junta’s water meets or exceeds all EPA standards. Arkansas River water filters through the alluvial sands and is further processed using reverse osmosis. Certified professional water treatment and distribution operators monitor and maintain our system to assure that your drinking water meets the highest standards. Water costs include a customer charge, a facility fee, and a usage charge. The usage charge is $1.80 per 1,000 gallons metered. Charges are billed monthly.

Commodity Charge:
The charge is $1.80 per 1000 gallons. New irrigation taps will not be issued after January 1, 2002. Existing residential irrigation meters will be charged $1.80 per 1000 gallons. Government irrigation meters will be charged $1.80 per 1000 gallons. An additional rate of $1.80 per unit will be assessed for those meters having more than 1 unit on a meter.
Facility Investment Fee:
This is a fee charged to pay for the water treatment plant. It is based on meter size. One fee per meter is charged. Residential accounts will be charged the 3/4" rate.

Sewer Rates

Residential:
Flat rate of $22.00 per month.
Commercial:
All non-residential commercial customers shall be charged a monthly flat rate of $31.00 per month unless adjusted as shown below. For current commercial users, the adjusted charge shall be computed using the 12-month average water consumption from January through December of the preceding year. Commercial accounts will be adjusted annually. A new commercial or industrial account shall be charged $50.00 until the annual rate can be established by using three months' usage. The first 7000 gallons are included in the minimum charge. Over 7000 gallons is charged @ $1.80 per 1000 gallons.
Sewer tap fees:
Residential: $400.00
Commercial: $800.00
Industrial: $2700.00
All rates are doubled outside the city limits.
