La Junta Transit is operated by the City of La Junta and supplemented with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5311 funds disbursed by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
La Junta Transportation will not limit participation based on handicap, race, color, religion, national origin, or political beliefs.
Route Service
La Junta Transit provides route service transportation throughout the city limits Monday through Friday except legal holidays advertised in advance. The bus will stop for passengers when hailed from any safe location along designated routes. Fare is $1.00 per one-way trip. Please call 384-5453 for more information on routes and scheduled times.
Route Deviation
Route deviation allows the bus off the normal route. Fare is $1.00 per one-way trip. This service is available through advance reservations. Please call 384-5453 to schedule route deviations.
Outside Area Service
Service to outlying areas such as North La Junta and areas west of La Junta is available through advance reservations. Please call 384-5453 to schedule out of area service.
Wheelchair Service
Three buses serve the community of La Junta. Both are equipped with electric wheelchair lifts and approved securement devices. For wheelchair service, please call 384-5453.

Bus Etiquette
- No smoking
- No animals other than assistance or comfort animals. All other animals must be in a carrier or restraint device.
- Baby strollers must be folded and not placed in the aisle.
- 3 grocery bag limit for driver and other passenger safety.
- No car batteries or fuel cans. New/empty cans may be taken home from the store.
- Seat belts are provided for passenger safety. By law, all riders under the age of 16 must be belted in. We strongly encourage belt use by all riders.
- Driver has the authority to deny transportation to anyone who may threaten the safety of La Junta Transit employees and patrons.
- No shirt; no shoes - no service.
- No open containers
- No food
